Thanked: 20Beautiful patch!
Today I managed to get a really close shave on one area of my chin with just a WTG pass. All around that patch there is a good amount of hair as there always is, but this one patch was just glorious. I don't know how I did it, but I want to do it all over my face!
How do you guys get a closer shave on your passes, specifically WTG?

Thanked: 23WTG, ATG, XTG it's all the same to me. Same quality of shave (excellent), same lack of irritation, same technique. I just do what comes natural and it's all good.

Start with a sharp razor.
Light but firm touch, watch the angle, start slow and work into it.
Take your time.
It'll come with practice.

Thanked: 20Today I managed to extend that patch to my lower chin, but at the expense of some cuts
How do you guys manipulate your chin? I mean, do you move your jaw up, down, in, out? Do you also stretch the skin? If so, how? Right now, I've tried to stretch the skin but it doesn't really get me anywhere, and I've been experimenting with moving my jaw outward and down trying to get a Jay Leno chin.
I'll probably, eventually figure out what works best, but I'm curious as to what you all do.

Thanked: 14The chin is particularly tough because of the differing hair growth directions. This is where LIGHT pressure with the blade comes in handy. You will also want to keep the blade close to the skin (low blade angle). Each chin is different, so you will need to find the blade direction that works for you. Be sure the blade is sharp so that light pressure that you use will do its job. Keep up the practice, we have the rest of our lives to get this right!

You're coming along fine, just have lots of patience with the chin.
Took us all a while to learn our chin strokes. Lots of things going on there, with all those curves, dimples, lips, hair growth direction and both sides of the face to contend with it takes time to get into a routine.
Eventually you will get a pattern down and only you can figure out yours.
But, like others said. Go slow, light touch. It'll come around.
