Yes, Henckels are very good blades. This one looks to be in great condition. The only question I would ask of the seller is if it is "shave ready" if not, or they don't understand what you are asking you will need ot send it out to have it professionally honed before you shave.

Do you have the rest of your kit ordered as well? You will need at least a strop, soap or cream and a brush.

Thanked: 3795Henckels are a very good choice. They have very good steel. If it is in fact shave ready, then any trouble you have will be your fault. Not everyone has an easy time with this. Be patient and practice repeatedly. At first, shave only the easy parts and eventually it will all be easy.

Are you using canned shaving cream or are you planning on using cream/soaps that are specially formulated for "wet shaving"?

In my opinion, it is not only worth it, it is necessary! Once you use a quality soap or cream with a brush, you will never go back to the canned stuff, even if you do not stick with straight shaving. There are many cheap options here that will probably cost you less than a can of Gillette shaving cream.

I had the same doubts too, and I tried shaving with just the gillette, but it doesn't glide the same as it does with a good soap, and you want a soap that provides some good glide. I would recommend the SRP soaps, they are inexpensive and awesome. I've used the same can every day for about a month and a half, and it isn't even half gone.
