Red face Will this be good for my first SR?

Hi guys, I recently decided that I will benifit greatly from becoming a SR shaver, and my gf will benefit from it especially, and stop complaining about me being sharp when we kiss

So, I found this Henckels Zwillingswerk Solingen SR, and I'd like you guys to advise me on whether or not this is a good choice.

And I have no idea about the blade width. The seller didn't specify.

Yes, Henckels are very good blades. This one looks to be in great condition. The only question I would ask of the seller is if it is "shave ready" if not, or they don't understand what you are asking you will need ot send it out to have it professionally honed before you shave.

The seller says it is shave-ready. Thanks for the reply!

Do you have the rest of your kit ordered as well? You will need at least a strop, soap or cream and a brush.

Henckels are a very good choice. They have very good steel. If it is in fact shave ready, then any trouble you have will be your fault. Not everyone has an easy time with this. Be patient and practice repeatedly. At first, shave only the easy parts and eventually it will all be easy.

A brush? Can't I just apply the cream with my hands?

Are you using canned shaving cream or are you planning on using cream/soaps that are specially formulated for "wet shaving"?

I just use gillette... is the investing in special creams/soaps really worth it?

In my opinion, it is not only worth it, it is necessary! Once you use a quality soap or cream with a brush, you will never go back to the canned stuff, even if you do not stick with straight shaving. There are many cheap options here that will probably cost you less than a can of Gillette shaving cream.
