Update report.
I have been shaving for a little over 2 months now. I have 8 razors in my rotation, of various sizes and styles. This is both a good and a bad thing. It gives the disadvantage of not getting alot of practice with one blade. But it also gives the advantage of making one pay attention to the cutting angles more closely, because each blade is different.
Today I had a very satisfying shave, very close and comfortable, though not "BBS", it is definitely the closest I have come to this point.
When I started here at SRP I was reading alot how many guys had been shaving for months and still not getting satisfying shaves. Now I am not saying I am an expert shaver, not even close, but I would like any Newbies to know that a great shave doesn't have to seem unattainable. Ask lots of questions, listen to the answers, come up with your own answers in some cases, and pay attention to your face and razor.

Congrats. As you have already discovered patience is the key. You will attain that BBS before you know it...

As your learning, it just takes time. A variety of razors is good. Watch those spike points....! Not only does it give you a variety to learn with, but it also will help you decide which type/style you like best. For me, I prefer a hollow to a wedge...
