    Robin,

    Wildhog has given you probably some of the best starting information I have seen in a while. Getting a good quality razor is the best choice you can make at this point 5/8 or 6/8 give little difference in the size category, therefore if you can find a 5/8 that looks good you will not be disappointed. I do not know how much reading you have been doing, however please read the Wiki from the above link on shaving and razors. Take your time when you get your razor and you will have a good experience.

    Make sure it is professionally honed before you use it.

    I think I will most likely end up buying out of the classifieds on here so hopefully the honing part should not be an issue.
