100 Posts
Hey, I hit 100 posts today! I guess that makes me a "senior" member - but I'm posting this under the Beginners Forum because that is what I am, a beginner and proud to be! I've been using a straight since September 2010 and I am still learning. Nicks and cuts are fewer and farther between but ocassionally happen. I am thoroughly enjoying my daily shaves. I've just begun a 2 week trial using EVOO in my pre-shave routine. I still use my DE when pressed for time.
I just transitioned from a homemade paddle strop to a Big Daddy Strop. Seems like a great purchase. I still haven't touched my good blade to a hone. I'm practicing honing skills with an ebay blade. I'm also trying to work on my photography skills.
I want to say thanks again to all the members, mentors and moderators who freely share their knowledge and experience.
Have a great day.

Well, Congratulations. Sounds like your doing well. I'm glad to hear you've resisted to urge to hone (good blade). Smart move buying an Ebay blade to practice on. The homemade paddle may come in handy for some crox or diamond paste....

It really doesn't matter if you have 1000s of shaves under your belt or have honed and/or restored 1000s of razors and everything seems routine there is still much to learn for everyone. It's that old saying about a little knowledge.
The more you know the more you realize there is to learn. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 1195Congrats on the milestone! The first hundred seems to take forever (at least it did for me), and then it goes by pretty quick after that. Just look at JimmyHAD, it seems like just yesterday he only had 10000 posts...

I think I'm still working on my first dozen, but I'll get there in the weeks ahead. I have packages heading my way!
