Thanked: 2Lather in a Scuttle
I just got a scuttle from my fiancee for V-day (totally awesome) and am trying to figure out how to lather in it vs. a bowl which I usually use. Theres just so little room to work the lather in its giving me some trouble.

Could you clairify? I've got a feeling I know what your saying but just to be sure.
I know one of the scuttles I have isn't much more than a brush warmer. I ended up getting a "long" handled brush just to use with it.
Pics would be nice, what scuttle did she get you?

Thanked: 2It's one of the metal or pewter ones where the top part with the holes is removeable, and about as big around as a cake of soap.

To me, it sounds like you are using one of the old fashioned types of scuttle where it is basically a receptacle for hot water and soap and not really to be used to produce a bowl of lather. If so, then you would want to build your lather in a separate bowl or just lather directly on your face. Modern scuttles are very different and are used like a bowl to not only produce the lather but keep it warm at the same time. Then again, I might be missreading what is actually the case.

Yep, sound like one of the old style ones. Not really designed to make lather in. probably you would load up the brush with soap and face lather. When we see a pic we'll know for sure.

Lather in a Scuttle
Hello, Lane:
I must agree with my friends about your scuttle being one of the older styles. Still, I can't fully comment on your problem until I see a picture of the scuttle. The picture will help us all.

Obie

I'm guessing this is the older style you referenced. What would one look like that i could lather in?

This is the one from Georgetown. There's also Sara Bonnyman & Dirty Bird & rbecker on e-bay
and Straight razor designs has their own (which I just ordered on Monday as a matter of fact). Plus some other variations from international vendors
