Whoever told you to use vinegar did you an injustice. Heres how to fix it. Using automotive grade wet and dry sandpaper. You will need the 600, the 1000, the 1500 and the 2000 grit paper. Start with the 600 until the garbage is gone and go thru the grits successively until you are done with the 2000 grit. Each grit will create smaller scratches that will polish out in the end using something like Maas or Simichrome. Have fun!
