Really good advice. I shaved every day when I started, and still do. Notwithstanding the initial burn, if you're skin is screaming "noooooooo!" lay off a day or two.

I shave 2 times most weeks 3 times max. my beard grows in quite slowly and I'm not that good yet so I don't see the point in shaving more often. I'm sure as my technique improves my time between shaves will decrease.

+1 Especially if your new and getting used to things no use in torturing yourself. Some weeks I'll shave basically everyday others only every second or third day. It can be a little aggrevating not shaving or being able to shave as much as you'd like when you find that the "ritual" has become a pleasantry instead of just a "necessity".

I have shaved everyday since I started straight razor shaving (about four months now.) I have not looked back and have loved every minute of it. I used to have to use my fusion razors to finish up for a few weeks, but not anymore. I just use my straight razors and love the shave I get every day. It is the most luxurious feeling I have had in the last 45 years of shaving. Keep at it. I believe that you will love it.

When I first started using a straight I shaved every day. Even though it was, and still is, highly satisfying to shave off a few days growth, I found it difficult to resist the urge to shave. But now, about two years In, I shave every couple of days. This is not because I dont enjoy the shave, its just that shaving with a straight razor in close proximity to people who dont like (in-laws) is scary.
This will change soon when my wife and I move away from the in-laws and into our own house.

I started to use a straight razor once a week.
Much depends on the technique of shaving razor sharpness ...
Now I use a straight razor 2-3 times a week.
Your skin can help a good shaving cream. And of course a good aftershave.

I shave about 2-3 times a week. Wish I could shave more now!

I seem to have it all backwards. I shave more when I have screwed up and hacked my face to ribbons in an effort to get it right.

All kidding aside I am about 5 shaves a week. Last shave went really well so skipped yesterday

For me it has been five times per week with the straight, and it gets a little better each time.
