Hi Im actually a newbie too, I have only started str8 razor about 6 months ago, Dovo was also my first shave ready razor. After a few months of shaving, my Dovo need a touch up.
I assume your razor is in good shape & only need a touch up. what I do I followed all the insruction from SRP wiki & SRP members and it really work. If you do about 50 laps of strop on your hanging strop & doesnt work, 1. you can either get a chromium oxide(cheaper way). It explain "how to use chrom.oxid" on SRP wiki.
2. or you can get 4000/8000grits honing stone (quite expensive about US $90)
3. or get a barber hone (inexpensive but I dont think they make this anymore, but you can get from SRP classified or Ebay).

you can just follow all the instruction on SRP wiki and some videos on SRP or youtube.
I dont know if you've heard this, DOVO suggest to rest the razor for 24 - 48 hours after shaving. bcos they say the fine fin sharp edge kinda bend after shaving and its extremely slow for the edge fin to straighten up. So You may need to get one more razor.
