    Alfborge,

You will definately be more than satisfied with
the stuff that you bought off Tony. Great products
    at a reasonable price.

As the others have stated, when you first start to
strop, take it slow. Speed means nothing. As
time goes on your stroping will getquicker.

Also as others have stated you won't learn to
shave with a straight overnight. So in the process
of learning just kick back and enjoy the experience.

In a few short weeks, you will be giving encouraging
advise to others just beginning this wonderful world
    of wet shaving.

I don't know about the benefits of a styptic. An alcohol-based aftershave will eliminate the small stuff and nothing will help the real bleeders.

Already got a styptic (or something, got it from the pharmacy). I've used it a couple of times when careless with my DE. Works like a charm but it stings, so I hope I won't need to use it too much. )

There's a product on the market used when bobbing tails off sheep, dogs, etc. I can't remember what it's called or what it's made of. I decided not to raise sheep if I had to bob the tails. The wool isn't worth the trouble anyway.

I saw the product in use once. The guy clamped the tail and chopped it quickly and then put this stuff on it. After about 2 minutes he released the clamp and the tail was fine. I don't know if they make anything like that for use on humans or not. (This display was the reason I changed my mind about raising sheep for wool ).

I guess with styptic or alcohol you will have to burn some It does help me with minro niks but like you said the nasty cuts don't seem to be affected quite as much.

FUD I don't blame you. I have never been one to handle gore or even little bits of blood.

I don't mind it. My dad's a farm boy, so I've seen plenty of sheep/pigs get slaughtered for food. And no, I'm NOT a vegetarian

It's not the blood, carnage or any of it. It's just the hassle, trouble, and my opinion on cruelty to animals .

We usually have a couple of lambs in our back paddock. Once they are over 1yr old
they are ready. My kids even watch as I butcher them. It is as humane as possible and makes for great eating as I know what they've been fed.

Sorry hijacking the thread, welcome to SRP btw. I spend a fair bit of time training in arctic warfare in Norway, great place.

Just a quick update. I made some additions to my storefront last night and one was the offer to include for free a second with any #1 strop purchased, wide narrow, etc....all one needs to do is ask. I also listed a new beginner strop. This is a golden vegtable tanned leather with a really nice surface. It is basically my #3 from the beginner set but without linen and with a thong and bead "noose" for hanging it instead of fancy hardware. First quality leather but simple construction to keep costs down for newbies who may wind up damaging their first strop.
    It will sell for $22.95

Nothing worse than spending a lot of money and damaging your new toy!

    Thanks guys,
    Tony
