Thanked: 2Starting to get the hang of it
First of all I'd like to thank everyone on the forum for all the great advice thats on here. It helps out ALOT! So as the title says, I think I'm starting to get the hang of straight razor shaving. I have a dovo best value 6/8" and tried it out with the factory edge since it was "shave ready". It wasnt a bad first shave but it was a learning experience and I didnt cut myself so I count it as a good first shave. I honed it with a surgical black arkansas stone and tried again after a day. That one was tons better but still not super great. Yesterday I had my 6th or 7th shave and I can tell that everything is starting to come together. My stropping is better, my technique is better, face prep, everything. I probably wouldnt have got this far if it wasnt for the forum so I wanted to say that I appreciate all the posts and you guys are the best!

Thanked: 993Glad to hear that you're getting better and more comfortable razor. It sounds like you're paying attention to all the little things, like shave prep.
Right on.
