Thanked: 12My razor bit me!
Last night I let my mind wander a bit and cut my thumb. just a lil cut, didn't bleed much but wow these things are sharp! Keep your mind in the game brothers and sisters lol. Had the razor belly high, edge towards me in my left, reached for a towel with my right and my thumb just barley kissed the blade. Didn't really feel the cut cuz of the sharp blade but it was my stropping hand and my thumb hurts when I strop now ha ha. ps. typing this after another wonderful shave, sore thumb or not.

Thanked: 46Yeah, the business end can be a little unforgiving with these toys, kinda like brushing your hair with a shotgun in a way.

I have to admit I never cut my thumb when shaving my face.
I suggest not break dancing while shaving.
A bit more 'focus' might be in order.

Ive had a few cuts, granted never on my thumb though. I have a nice scar between my norstils, and my most recent addition( due to my foot slipping on wet floor on holidays) is a nice scar on my cheek, it all adds to manly charactor. you could cut your other thumb so it wont feel left out. or just take your time relax and enjoy.

Aside from how hilarious the shotgun idea is... I find that this is one of the best things about the switch to straights. First, there is something inherently manly (sorry ladies but it is) to starting every day by putting a deadly weapon up to your face; and second, the need to concentrate and NOT cut yourself leads me to a kind of zen state. I tried to get my roommate started by explaining that taking 10 minutes every morning to just concentrate on nothing is incredibly relaxing/focusing. Everyone's gotten cut one way or another I think, but that focus that comes with keeping it from happening again is one of the reasons I keep coming back...

It's one of those things that happens. It's been a long while since I cut my self, but now that I have replied to this post I am sure I will be bleeding shortly

I cut myself three times today, odd considering i hadn't in months! A bit of toilet paper or a styptic pencil and noones the wiser!
