Yes, I use proraso preshave mainly because of the cool menthol feeling that it gives. I'm not sure that it works any better than Noxzema would . The cost is an issue, with it being 10x that of Noxzema .

I absolutely love this stuff. When I first started I bought a sample and tried different preps and found this stuff to really make a difference in glide and closeness compared to AOS pre shave oil, or olive oil as a pre-shave. Gave some to my brother and he really likes it too!

Love Proraso! I use the preshave every day on my face and my noggin. I have the aftershave in my rotation as well.

Straight Razor (SR) shaving, compared to Disposable shaving (CTDS), straight razor hands down better results.
-lather w/ SR, 110% improvement CTDS
-good face cleansing (face scrub or not) w/ lather w/ SR, 125% improvement CTDS
-Proaso Preshave cream w/ lather w/ SR, 128% improvement CTDS
-good face cleansing (face scrub or not) w/ Proaso Preshave cream w/ lather w/ SR, 140% improvement CTDS
-good face cleansing w/ face scrub w/ Proaso Preshave cream w/ lather w/ SR, 150% improvement CTDS
