Thanked: 1587I've been working on a formula for this. Here is what I have so far.
N_t = Number of razors at time t
t = time since joining SRP
I = Disposable Income
M = Years of Marriage
V = How much you value your marriage
S = Sneak index - how well you can hide purchases from your spouse. Related to M and V in a non-trivial way.
The formula goes something like this ( it is still a work in progress):
N_t = ceiling[ (S/M*V^2) * exp{k*I*t/V}]
k is a constant, yet to be determined. I call it Jimbo's Constant, and I am pretty sure the man (or woman) who finally discovers its value will win a Nobel Prize.
Ceiling[x] just means the smallest integer (whole number) not less than x.

I just need 1 more then I'm done for good man. Like always though the sweet sweet siren song calls to me. Resistance is futile All in I've got less than $300 in razors but if you count scale material and equipment I'm well over $700 and only been in the game a year now life is GOOD!!

I only need three ..... per shave . I've actually thinned down my rotation (if you can call it that) . I have 3 , 6/8 ; 3 , 5/8 , and 4 , 9/16 . I used to have a few more , but I sold them off . I was getting tired of shaving with all the different razors . Most of them were 5/8 , and I prefer a 6/8 . Currently , I use 3 razors per shave , because I like to do each pass with a freshly stropped razor . So I strop all 3 before I shave , do the 1st pass with the 6/8 , the 2nd with the 5/8 , and I use a 9/16 for the upper , and lower lip , and final clean up . BTW ; I only shave 2-3 times a week , so it's not like it's taking up a lot of my time . If I had to shave everyday , I would use a 5/8 or 9/16 , and only do 1 pass .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .

I think this sums it up best.
In my situation, I started with one, then realized I should get into honing. I wanted a cheap practice razor for that, but I also figured I should have a second razor for when one is in the process of being honed and not quite finished. As well, I figured a backup for travel would be a good idea. So, my conniving mind has given me two usable (and nearly identical) razors and a cheap practice one. The rest of my RAD, HAD, SAD funds are being diverted to my mortgage and my retirement savings.
