    What Ed said. I also fold half the towel over the razor to keep it from getting wet while I fling lather and water all over the bathroom. The wife just loves that!

    This is what I have been doing too. I have a folded fluffy hand towel on the top of the toilet tank, which is right next to the sink I use for shaving. I semi close the razor and gently place it on the towel. As a newb to straight shaving, in addition to putting the razor down to relather I also have to stop to wipe the sweat from my brow and let my knees stop shaking...

    I dont get to use the sink in the master bathroom because my wife says I fling water and lather all over like a bird in a birdbath...
