Yep, Done that as well, and I never figured why or what I hit the edge on. There real sensitive that way. Your ok, I also thought I was in trouble and damaged my blade. A Re-Honing, and your back on the ball with it. Seriously though, if you ever do figure out what you hit on the edge, let me and us all know. I would love to figure that one out myself.
I believe it's from my strop technique. The nicks seem to be from me putting pressure on the blade as I strop. The nicks seem to be just the right space apart where my 2 inch strop touches my blade as I go back and forth. I've got to slow and take things easy. Hopefully they hone out when I send it back to SRD.
