    Default Crap! I got bit!

So it was my 5th or 6th shave with a straight, and only my 2nd three pass shave. Things were going so well, and I had a DFS going, and then it happened! I was finishing my 3rd pass, and just cleaning things up a bit when my straight bit me! As soon as I got a little comfortable, aka cocky, I let my angle get a little steep, and I didn't have my skin stretched enough, I got cut. It wasn't too bad, just enough to make me feel stupid, and remind me that the straight razor gods are watching. Oh well, lesson learned...

Good lesson learned. Hope she didn't bit you too bad.

I did that last night too. Not enough to bleed but cut enough to feel it. Ooops.

I've been straight shaving two years and I don't know if I've had 5 or 6 shaves without a bite (or a nibble)! Carry on.

The problem I had as a beginner was being too focused, trying hard to remember everything I had to do. In time, you'll be functioning on automatic pilot, standing in front of the mirror while your hands do the work.

    You're doing great!

Something similar happened to me on my last shave purely from going too fast and dropping all semblance of technique. For me, the mood wasn't right to begin with so that didn't help matters any.

It has to happen to everyone.

This is your straight razors way of politely asking for your attention!
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!
