Hey friend. +1 on the Straight Razor Designs. Your razor will come shave ready from those guys and that's huge. I started with a Dovo 6/8 Best Quality and a SRP Black Latigo 3" Strop. Great stuff! While the Dovo doesn't have wood scales, it's a great shaver (from what I've experienced, I'm a noob too). Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Enjoy!
