Thanked: 1First SR shave... Felt the need to post
I've been on here lurking and posting questions and learning as much as possible. I got my razor back from Larry at Whipped Dog today (did an awesome job honing it) so I had to try it out. This weekend I was out and stopped in the Body Shop and picked up some Maca root shave cream and their Razor Relief after shave ( buy one get one free). So I made a practice lather and it was perfect so I put it on my face. dumped the remainder and made another one still practicing. This one had too much water and was soapy so I dumped ran a shower and let my brush soak. The next lather was again perfect. Applied to my face and began to shave. I did my entire face except my mustache and goatee, the angles were too much for my first time. I did two passes WTG. NO NICKS with the SR! pumped about that. BUT ..... and this is the reason I felt compelled to post as I felt it was ironic and would give some others a laugh.... after 30-45mins of holding the sharpest piece of steel I have ever come across against my face I finished the job with a disposable and CUT MYSELF! lol oh the irony. But regardless I had a good first shave and want to thanks those members of the community who have been helpful.

Thanked: 109Good report. Congratulations. I have always been able to cut myself with disposables. You appear to be on the right track and soon there will be no more burn.

Good start! Enjoy every minute of your shave because further it will became shorter
btw my brother always cut himself with mach-3))) And it's his main argument why he do not want to try straight razor - he afraid to kill himself
