It took me till about the 7-10 shave when I started to think I knew what I was doing!

that is great to hear
unfortunatly I am suffering from a major rash/reaction on my face right now and I look like a meth head 
I wouldn't dare take a razor to my face right now. The doc says it will clear up in a week or two...no shaving till the sores are gone ....I am super pissed about it

Its been my experience so far. Nicks with a straight are pretty manly. No little tiny slice, A nice long red line that looks like you came out of a knife fight the winner.
