of course they said that! they may be metrosexual, but they are still guys...
my personal view on the matter is trimming is fine, hairless is only for pre-pubecent boys and porn stars...and i wish to be neither. to the OP, just out of curiosity...who says that 10 year old is the preferred look? i'm always curious where people get their ideas of what is "the norm" and why no one questions whether or not the norm is just a ploy by some company to sell more razors, hot wax services, etc...
it's especially interesting when you combine that with traditional views of the "man's man". sean connery circa bond...eastwood...mcqueen...you try having this conversation with them, and they will laugh at you...then steal your woman

I did it with a DE. So a lot cheaper than doing it with cartridges. I purchased an old gillette for $10 and some Wilkinson's blades for about $2. I recommend getting used to the DE before using it down there. I thought about doing it with a straight and remembered the scar I have on my face. Hmm, I do not need a matching one on my member. I already have the circumcision one that is enough.

While I don't partake, I see no reason why a straight would be particularly risky. I would probably use a 4/8 or 3/8 as they are more manoeuvrable IMO but I see no greater potential for a serious injury than when shaving my neck.

ReardenSteel is correct. Back in '77 I was in an unhelmetted motorcycle accident. When the hospital sent me the bill at the end of the month, there was a line item charging me more than a dentist would charge for a dental exam in the ER (which occurred while I was still unconscious). Most likely someone just shined a penlight inside my mouth to make certain there weren't any tooth fragments floating around that could block my airway.

given the subject of this thread I find seeing the words accident and unhelmetted in the same sentence a little unsettling

I was 24 y/o. Translation: young, stoopid, and I believed I was bulletproof and would live forever. BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO OFF TOPIC!
To the OP: avoiding an "accident" is the reason I recommended waxing in lieu of shaving. For $5.99 you can purchase this waxing for men kit to do the deed in the privacy of your own home. Looks like it comes with enough supplies to do what you want to do several times, but YMMV.

Agreed!
To the OP.
I once had a patient come in by ambulance with his hand superglued to his scrotum. How you ask? Well he decided to cut off a small mole from his scrotum with a bowie knife. Yes, alcohol was definately invloved. He was 38 and living with mom. He had cut quite a large piece of his scrotum off leaving a large and bloody hole to the "boys in the sack". Next bright idea????? Use superglue as he had seen it on ER...... Thats when EMT's were called....
My advice unless you are wanting to end up on the darwin awards is get some clippers. If you think shaving your chin is hard wait till you try the boys!!!
