Your number of strokes sounds a bit high but I really don't know your stone or the condition of your razor

To give you and idea this is a Vid on using just a Thuringen to hone after the bevel is set, if your razor was shaving before you started the bevel should have been set.. Part one is mostly getting the bevel set so you may not even need most of that but the end..
