    Default Is your razor a Girl or a Boy?

    Kind of a goofy question, I know... But, most guys are 'gadget guys', 'tinkers' or some sort of passionate hobbyist to begin with and often the items they work with, like cars for instance, kind of develop a personality of sorts and are often referred to as "She", "He" or another nickname.

    Anybody do that with Razors?

    For me it is an object therefore it is an "it"

    Me too...all of my bladed objects seem to have a life of their own and a story to tell, but they do not have gender.

    I also make it a practice never to talk to my blades...but I do try and listen.

    On the comical side, people rarely realize how crazy I am this way. On a serious note, some blades do in fact, tell stories, but it takes some skill to decipher them

    My razors appear to have gained the title of 'she'.

    Its appropriate because its the most action my skin has seen from a female in a while.

    In thinking about it . . . they have to be 'She' based . . .

    first off, they need to be pampered or they pout;
    second, they hurt you when you least expect it;
    and last, if you neglect them, they loose their luster.

    On the up side, they don't seem to mind if you bring home another one to play with

    It is interesting how in English objects do not have gender.
    In other languages they do, car for example in Bulgarian is of female gender, so "fill her up" would be the way to say it correctly. A razor would be male gender so it would be a guy, but we are talking English here therefore "it" for me.

    My wife tells me that they're kind of "Metrosexual". She has used other terms too!

    My guitar is a she, and an uncooperative she at that, but my razors, knives, guns are an 'it', as Stefan so aptly put it.

    I can't say that I've ever TALKED to my blades but I have, with a great enthusiasm, cursed them and their godless selves when they bite.
