The funny thing with NOS razors is that if it is sealed up still you pay alot more than one that isn't sealed and never been honed, but unless your going to stick the NOS razor in a display case and never use it you are going to have to open it up to use it. Once it is opened it is the same as the ones that weren't sealed and never been honed. Feels to me that you are just paying extra to open a sealed package. The wapi razors are usually reasonably priced for an unused razor. Not as reasonable as they used to be from what I keep reading. If only I started using a straight along time ago.

Thanked: 2The price was attractive. I was looking for something unused that had good reviews on performance. All in all I am happy. It is pretty sharp but I am going to have it professionaly honed just in case. That way I know what to expect from a honed blade and have a reference point
.
I also have a Wapi in the mail from ClassicEdge.com that I am waiting on with some other goodies.

Of course all Wapi's are either used or NOS since they haven't made them in years.
They have been discussed around here ad infinitum and many do like them. Personally, for me there are plenty of used quality razors designed to be used as a straight for shaving so I wouldn't consider a razor designed for surgery preparation.
Of course that's just me.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I've been wanting one for a while. Ranger, would you mind PM'ing me that guy's info if you wouldn't mind? I had his web address at one time, and my DA lost it during a spring cleaning fest.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Thanked: 20Hey Ranger, My Wapi is my favourite razor. It shaves like a dream. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. If you don't like it after a couple shaves send it this way.

Looks nice and thanks for sharing the pics! I saw those awhile back and thought what a cool way to do a 7 Day Set... Grab 7 of those, clean them up and send them to be engraved, hone 'em up and come up with a case. Really looks like it will turn out to be a great shaver!

Thanked: 2So after finding out that Poste Italia is on strike, Mastro Livi was kind enough to extend to me his DHL account number to have them come to work first thing tomorrow morning to pick up my razor. I am also able to pay DHL for Mr Livi's services and their fees when I receive the razor back. I am already very pleased with the Mastro's cervices.
I will have to report how the razor performed once its back from honing.

Thanked: 2So after some phone calls and emails back and forth to Mastro Livi we (work and I) finally came to an agreement. Since I was not able to send a razor through a courier service or the poste Mastro Livi generously arranged for the pickup of my razor. It will be delivered back to me Tuesday, shave ready and honed my the Mastro. Excellent customer service. I cannot wait to shave.
