Travelling
I travel allot too, for quick 2 day trips I resorted to using Bic Metals. They're disposables but only have a single blade and a fixed head.
They get the job done and don't irritate my face like the multi blade carts. And at 1.80 a 5 pack, my wallets happy too lol.

yeah I am really not hung up using a cartridge for the rare instances where I gotta travel. I view this like you guys do too - it's a great hobby. Thought maybe there was some way around it that I'm missing.
Driving to Austin from Washington would be a little too over the top just for a good shave

Thanked: 0So, when you guys do travel and give up the SE or safety for the cartridge, do you still take soap and brush and such? What's actually in your travel kit?

I travel a lot. I always bring a brush and a can of soap. For quick trips with carry-on only, I bring a Gillette Mach 3. If I can check luggage I bring a straight edge and a strop. Leaving for a few days this coming week. Just sitting here thinking about whether I should check my luggage or not. Decisions, decisions!!!
BTW, it doesn't matter how much I try with the Mach 3. I am scratchier in the afternoon after a Mach 3 than I am on the morning after with a straight edge. Yeah, yeah! My facial hair is not the most impressive, but still.
