    For the reasons you have stated i would suggest going to whippeddog.com and getting larys poor mans kit. it will come with a shave ready razor strop and balsa pasted strop for around 70 bucks. you can email or call him he will answer every question. super nice guy, he will set you up right without breaking the bank, he is also a member here as well.
