I have the Feather stainless steel razor which is very mild. I am not familiar with the one you are using. It is probably a good razor to start with, but be open to adding other razors as you find out more about your beard and as your technique improves.
I use Feather blades also, but I would suggest you get a blade sample pack from one of the vendors so you can see how much difference the blade makes and possibly find one you prefer to Feather.
I would also recommend moving from anything in a can to learning how to build a good lather. It takes some practice.
Be patient. Go slow. Take small strokes (about an inch or so at a time). Read the wiki and look at the Shaving Techniques forum. The tale is doon, and God save al the rowte!

Thanked: 0I use to use a mug, brush and soap. Guess I thought can would be easier. Just had s thought. I use African Black Soap to bathe. It works up the best lather I have ever seen. Plus it moisturizes great with the natural oils. I'm going to try it tonight and I'll let you know my findings.

Thanked: 0Okay folks, just tried the African Black soap and it worked nicely for me. I still have the irritation from Friday going on so,I might have waited a couple of days to try it with the irritation healed. I will wait a few days to shave again and try the same thing. Shower,African Black soap lather, and shave. I will let you know. Oh, I have found some IP blades and will get some of them and try. The reviews on them are outstanding.
