Thread: Love my time with my straights!

I'm totally with you, man. I just started couple weeks ago and am hooked! I already own three razors, a barbers hone, and too many accessories... Each shave is so much better than the one before. I can never go back to electric or cartridge shaving now...

I agree too. I just started last week and I'm in it for good. The first shave left me questioning why I decided to use a straight. But I came back here and began reading more about how to shave and the next thing I know shave #8 was as good as I ever got with a cartridge; and I know they'll get better as time goes on.

I got a couple Dovos from the member sales section here that were honed by Lynn and they showed up yesterday. Of course, I had to try one on last night. That convinced me to go ahead and buy some stones. Mr. Abrams is obviusly excellent at his craft, but the difference in what he can do and what I was shaving with is huge. It is definitely good advice to get a razor from someone trusted so you can experience a fine hone early while learning. Now I have a target to shoot for, but I also know I can shave with something far less than what Lynn produces. Hopefully I'll be shaving with an edge I produce soon.

It gets better every time you shave.
