Thread: Oil after every shave?

I don't think the idea is to oil the blade daily, the idea is to have a routine to ensure that the blade is dry, and there is no moisture that can cause rust.
Obviously, between the scales is important, and even more so, the pivot area must be dry, and you can't really get any tissue in that area. Hence, making sure you get no, or as little moisture in that area as possible, and if you do, make sure it is air dried thoroughly. If you put oil on the pivot area and there's still moisture present, all your doing is allowing the oil to seal the water against the blade.
Dry, moisture free storage is key.

Well, here we go....yes, I own the oil and applicator from SRD.
No, I don't use it everyday.
I have 4 razors now that are in rotation using each one as the spirit moves me.
Thinking about it, I will start using the oil again.
This thread has reminded me that I have INVESTED in these razors.
The couple of extra seconds will give me back the peace of mind lost after reading...
When I get off the road, I will 'oil up' and be diligent.Malo periculosam libertatem quam quietum servitium
