    So, I don't have a proper strop. I'm using a makeshift one right now. That being said, it was happening before I stropped, but it doesn't matter at this point. The end result is that I'm going to stop SR shaving until I get a good strop, and then I will hone + strop and then see how it shaves.

    Gotcha. Let us know how it goes after you get a strop I would suggest a cheap one for the first one. You will probably ding it up a lot

    My son has been using the leather belt he uses for his trousers for about a year now. He likes to be a non-consumer. He prides himself on buying trousers at the Op Shop for 50 cents...

    I actually think it's a pretty cool thing to be able to use one's belt as a strop, I reckon you could make it work...
