Question about DR Harris shaving cream.
Has anyone noticed that some jars come with the cream harder than others? I have an almond and Arlington that are perfect but the lavender is fairly hard. Not as hard as a soap but hard enough that you can't just dip your brush in to get any out, so you kind of have to use it like a soap and load the brush by whipping it in the jar a little before moving to the scuttle as you would soap. If I wanted soap I would buy soap. I like the cream for the smoothness and ease of lathering. The end result is the same but found it odd. I have seen other scents that are harder too so its not just the lavender.

Thanked: 1195It likely has less to do with the scent and more to do with age. You probably got an old jar that has dried out a bit. It's happened to me too; you paid for a cream but got a "soap" instead. I've found that you must load the brush like it's a soap but it lathers more like a cream when applied to the face. YMMV though.
And yes, my dried cream was DR Harris as well.....

That is not so uncommon. I've found that with several cremes. I don't know if it's because it's old or it's the formulation.
