What, you never saw the movie "Gremlins"? It's kinda like what happens when you get a Mogwai wet... They just start multiplying.

I won't even get started on what happens when you feed your razors after midnight...

Just what I thought, having just 1 or 2 razors is one of those urban legends you always hear about but never see. It's really academic now for me since razors 3 and 4 are in the works.

One razor is all you need. Before you know it, though, you have a second. Then a third. Then a fourth. Then . . . And so it goes in the world of straight razor shaving.

At the Beginning i started with two Razors, a very fine 1/1 hollow grounded Eugenio Hoppe No. 14 AEVOS and a 1/2 Hollow grounded Veritable P. Fritisse, and after i learned with them i begann to search for other Razors, more Razors with other Characteristics, some hyped Razors, some Razors i bought only because of the Look, but now, after around 120 Razors i guess that a good 1/1 HG about 13/16 and a 1/2 HG about the same Size are the only Razors a Beginner needs, and the 1/2 HG only to learn about the differences between these two types of Groundings.

Once you are set up and have learned how to hone and strop correctly, as well as shave, you can get away with one, but it is fun to collect and try different razors. They all have their different characteristics and quirks about them.

The proper amount of razors that someone should have is (N+1), with N being the number of razors that you currently have

for the basic you have two razors and you are ready, but there is RAD beware of that or you stick after a while whit plenty more razors/brushes/ soap and after shave.

I've settled on 6. It just works for me, YMMV. I touch up the edges at the same time. That way I'm pretty consistent with edges.
