Looking for honer / restorer in the ntherlands
I got some old razors which are in need of cleaning, honing, and scale replacement. Pictures
Cleaning I can handle but not the scale replacement and the honing. I'm only looking to use blade 1 and possibly blade 4 and 5 depending on how they turn out after clean up.
So anyone near nijmegen who could do that? or any professional shops?

Thak you for the photographs!
None of them but the first may be worth saving. Clean it up and see how it looks after the work of cleaning it.
The others look to be almost eaten through by corrosion and a couple have been honed to perdition.

After cleaning, post it again. I know some hone persons are in your area and one may reply.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

I can get the stuff for cleaning up the razor on Wednesday. So I'll probably get some pictures then.
For cleaning I am getting some metal polish, microfiber towel, fine steelwool, 800 sandpaper for metal (maybe 400?). Any objections?Last edited by BiscuitCookie; 01-06-2014 at 08:46 PM.

Not near nijmegen but den haag, but you can always give him a pm
i think looking at the pics not al those razors are worth saving, if they where mine the only options razor one and mayby razor five. the rest is crapp.
Save those brushes, put a new knot in those handles and go

Well I can't find any of the stuff needed for cleaning nearby. So I won't be cleaning them.
Does laurens also restore or does he just hone?

Frank, you really have to get used to writing "Laurens"
Thank you for naming me, I missed this thread. I'm happy to help!
Blades 1 and 5 look like they will clean up and take an edge, 4 is a guess, 2 and 3 look like they are beyond my skill to restore. I'll be in touch with BiscuitCookie and let you guys know.I want a lather whip
