That reminds me about that guy in temptation island who was named (or called himself) Gringo.
Or the way he proncounced it: Hhrinho.
I wonder how many around Brugge today would be able to pronounce 'Schild en Vriend' correctly these days.
Just poking fun. I myself am from 'De Liiimbuuurg' although I have to admit that I speak rather clean 'Beschaafd Nederlands' due to the fact that my parents raised me in that tongue, and I went to college in Geel (Antwerpen) where the only way to be understood was to shed what accent I had left. There are people form my birthplace who went to college with me, whom I could barely understand because they only spoke our local dialect.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
