Yes, that is a good boar brush and a step above the Van der Hagen. Once it breaks in it will serve you well. Enjoy it.

Thanks guys. Yes it is a little stiff still but I can see how it lathers up faster on my face than the cheaper one I had.

The more you use it the softer it will become. make sure you soak it a good bit before each use.

I start out with my boars dry, dipped in hot water. I find in order to get the best out of them, the shafts should remain dry as long as possible, really as in any brush, IMO. Dab of water here and there while lathering gets it right. Also, something is to be said about face-lathering with boar. The bomb! I have rediscovered them lately and they seem to find more "face time" than my badgers!

I soak mine in hot water as I shower and then shave after I get out of the shower so it soaks less than 10 minutes.
