Travel brushes
Just wondering what everyone uses when they're on the move as I am on the lookout for a new travel brush.
Need something soft, ideally super or even silver tip badger (face can't cope with a synthetic or boar) and must be able to fit into a tube to protect the bristles.
Any ideas?

Forgot to add that I always face lather and use both creams and soaps (Palmolive) when travelling.

I was gifted an Art of Shaving travel kit with a small badger brush in a machined metal tube with screw-cap. Having used the small brush (in my large hands) a few times I prefer a lather-on-face stick for travel. The AOS brush is soft, nice enough and all that - just not to my taste. YMMV. Thing with a travel brush is, you don't want it wet in your kit so you have to contain it in something. When you get home you have to liberate it and let it dry out. Forget that a few times and your brush may go stinky.
Thought. If I was a road warrior dedicated to lathering with a brush (which I'm not) I'd ventilate a plastic travel soapdish and take the preferred home badger along with."We'll talk, if you like. I'll tell you right out, I am a man who likes talking to a man who likes to talk."

Thanked: 3223You won't like what I am using but since you asked it is a Muhle synthetic silver tip fiber travel brush. I face lather both soaps and creams for which it works very well and is gentle on the face. Liked it so much I bought a Muhle XL sized regular synthetic silver tip fiber brush for home use. That one is a favoured brush at home over my various silver tip badgers.
OTH why not just take the brush you like from home and put it in a container like a prescription pill tube. Drill a few air holes in the lid and you got a travel brush.

Thanks for the suggestions and responses everyone.
Not quite sure I understand the concept of a "synthetic silvertip". Isn't that an oxymoron? I mean, I always though that silvertip referred to a type of badger hair grade. In any case, a vendor from over here has suggested going for this Muhle as well.
MisterMoo - totally understand what you mean by the AoS brushes. Had a couple (and gave them away!) from an ingrown hair set and they were top notch.
Not sure I could get something as big as my Kent to fit it into...

Thanked: 4942I have been using the Thater Travel Brush in the stainless container. Don't leave home without it. Nice backbone and soft tips. Not cheap, but a great travel brush. Think I used it in one of my travel set up videos.
Have fun.

I have the Simpson's Case with the tube. I've used it face lathering with both a Tabac stick and DR Harris creme and it works perfectly. Love it.

I take a Tweezerman brush and an new plastic brush tube. Works well and don't worry about losing it.

I'm trying to upload a pic but I can't seem to get it to work. My file size is small 52k but still won't go. Sorry.

Thanked: 3223Muhle makes two types of synthetic fiber brushes, a black synthetic fiber and a silver tip synthetic fiber, so I would guess that is to differentiate between the two. From the reading I did before buying the two fibers have different characteristics also. The synthetic silver tip fiber from Muhle feels to me as being close to a natural silver tip yet a bit different but not in a bad way. Certainly not like the prickly sensation of using a rake on my face that I experienced using TBS synthetic brush. The Muhle is very different from that experience.
