Not my thing either, but hey......I had my ears pierced 6 times, and two tattoo's, I no longer sport the ear ring's but the tat's well we all know what's done is done. I can appreciate that more people today can express them selves, as more people seem to accept it, instead of judge.

If you put some mini sound cones in them, they could work as amplifiers,will need to look into this

You might be onto something, just need to figure out how to incorporate an I-pod, you can call them ear-pod-lifiers

On the subject, I've seen some door handles made from a piece of bamboo filled / saturated with epoxi and then turned and polished, looked ok.
