Nope. I'm fairly concerned. If someone has his phone #, it may be a good idea just to check up on the situation.

I've been trying all sorts of emails to get hold of Matt but no luck. He's a very responsible guy and I hope everything is okay. I would like to get back the four antique brushes I sent him if he isn't in the business anymore. One was a re-hair and the other three just so he could have fun looking at them.
If someone has a number I would be happy to call. It's been too long.

Yeah, Matt seems to have stiffed me for a frameback razor I sent him as an advanced partial payment for a brush he was supposed to be making for me.
Like everyone else, I've had no replies to any of the e-mails or private messages I've sent him.
I drafted an actual letter, as I mentioned above, but now that I've purchased a Shavemac Silvertip, I'm not as inclined to send it. I'm not all that impressed that he seems to have not returned items to other people too.

I have forwared Matt's number to another member who has a few items there. Hopefully he will be able to contact Matt and find out what's up. I know Matt has been through a personal tragedy and sometime people react quite differently to these things. I am 100% sure that if Matt were his usual self everyones items would be finished and back in their owners hands.
Maybe we will know something soon.

Using the word "stiffed" is a bit much. Matt has built up a stellar reputation in the community and he wouldn't trade it for a razor and a couple of brushes.
If you get in touch with him, please let him know that he can contact me if he needs anything (as I'm like 1hr away from him).

Thanked: 9Agree with Ilija. While people's items are important to them - understandably so - I doubt Matt would trade his reputation for such a "catch"
Seems he's in a situation where those few items have no importance... Unfortunate for the owners, but I'm sure he's much more unfortunate than them
Now, Ilija - if he's that close, isn't it better if you just go up to his door and try to take him out for a drink or even just a walk and a chat? I think I might have done this, if I were you. Of course, you might not be welcome - but you could try.
Cheers

I hardly know Matt, but this might happen to any of us.
I really don't think he dropped offline only to keep those few razors or brushes that happened to be with him at the time.
In his last post he really sounded like someone who was trying to come to terms with a difficult situation, and asking for understanding.
He did not sound at all like someone trying to weasel out of something.
I check my email addresses, SRP and a couple of other places at least several times per day, but I can easily image situations where my online activities or someone else's razors would be on the bottom of my priorities list.
Things like this happen. That's life.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
