Nice brush Pete, I've always like the handle on the Americana let us know hoe the flattop performs.

Now that is very cool....does it have lots of backbone and is it nice and scritchy on the face? Have never seen a flat top knot before....is that one of the custom features on the Shavemac site?

Neat brush! I am interested as to the characteristics. Flat-top boars are fine with me, but never liked the 'fans' as much as the bulbs in 2-band badger.
I see you are from Japan. What brushes do barbers use there? Past and present? I suppose I have not ever seen a Japanese brush."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 41So just a bit of follow-up... I love this brush!!! As good as my Shavemac 3-band fan is for face lathering, my new Americana 2-band flat is even better, especially the flow through! It is a purpose designed face lathering beast, IMHO! Highly recommended!
Regarding your question, sharptonn, I honestly don't know about brushes here currently or historically, but now you've made me curious.Fudoushin Bujinkan Dojo

I can't seem to locate any details about that type of knot on the Shavemac site...I can see the Americana handle, but no way to customize it with the flat knot? What am I missing...help!

Thanked: 3226Thank you for your follow up report as I have been curious about the flat top design having liked a fan more than a bulb. Is it scritchy/scratchy on the face or is the feel soft with backbone?
