Just curious, what made you choose that one over the others? I am thinking about a new boar brush myself and just would like to hear from you on why that one peaked your interest over all the other brushes mentioned in this thread.

I liked the looks of it and also the reviews I found were very good a lot of the same from here about the break-in period. I am also trying my hand at making a brush or two and like the idea of the cost not being very high for top quality. I have a few Elk and Deer antlers that have been given to me for handles so we shall see how it goes.

Something else to try to throw into the mix....

I've tried the Semogue 1305, and the boars are just too sloppy for me, they just seem to not have the staying power of a good badger brush IMO.

The closest I've come to a brush I use as something to change things up, is the Vulvix "Grosvenor", Mixed Badger/Boar brush, some great backbone, nice and scritchy on the face which boar excels at, while having the some of the holding power of the badger. I'm just getting to the point of tuning this brush with my routine that it will not slop water everywhere, and still load up well.

I tried a few boars, and they simply aren't for me, but this mix is nice, I definitely like it, and it will stay in my rotation:
