    I was thinking about the heat transfer too but it would be quite simple to empty and fill with more hot water. I just think it would be easier to handle the top bowl than a single piece which looks like it would get heavy filled with water. Never tried any kind of scuttle so I have no idea how heavy it would get.

    I can tell you this, that post I made above, with the photo of the Moss .......... notice how close the walls of the scuttle are ? The idea Chris Moss had, and it was a good one, was to keep the cavity tight to the bristles to transfer heat efficiently with minimum loss. Scuttles that are made to lather in don't have this advantage. That is why I ended up with two pieces anyhow, but the heat is better retained within the close walls, and once loaded the brush is returned to the scuttle, between passes, the heat transfer continuing.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Like Jimmy posted above...I use a 2 bowl system that I picked up on the cheap and still use it. I like it and it's real easy to use for me...
