I have a very old Plisson 2 band I found at an antique store about 3 or4 years ago. Smelled of musty cardboard, or that "antique store" smell. Lathered some Williams soap about 5 or 6 times rinsing very thoroughly after each time. Worked like a charm!

Notice the black and white bands on the badger hair. 2 band on the left, 3 band on the right.

My Plisson may look 3 bandish.... but is a high loft 2 band. Loft is how much hair is set above the handle.

Dry well by tamping on a towel or micro fiber and flagging on the edge of your palm covered with a towel or micro fiber till dry.

Hang in a brush holder, handle up.
This is basically the way I do it.

Yes, soap is soap however do you know who owned it? Do you know for a fact it was used for soap? Maybe it was used to apply ......(fill in the blanks). That's why I don't use a used brush.

Even if it was used for shaving soap no matter what you do you'll never get the base of the knot really cleaned.

If you have ever re-knotted a brush,As big says, you will not believe the stuff that is in the base of the knot, can be very ugly.
