Thanked: 2284I have a very old Plisson 2 band I found at an antique store about 3 or4 years ago. Smelled of musty cardboard, or that "antique store" smell. Lathered some Williams soap about 5 or 6 times rinsing very thoroughly after each time. Worked like a charm!

Very nice, not all that familiar with brushes. I think its becoming a new AD for me though 😉 bu what do you mean by the bands

Yes, soap is soap however do you know who owned it? Do you know for a fact it was used for soap? Maybe it was used to apply ......(fill in the blanks). That's why I don't use a used brush.
Even if it was used for shaving soap no matter what you do you'll never get the base of the knot really cleaned.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 2027If you have ever re-knotted a brush,As big says,you will not believe the stuff that is in the base of the knot,can be very ugly.
