I'm very sorry to have to tell you this but researchers discovered the red pigment used in that handle is the mineral Cinnabar which is mercury ore and the mercury seeps out into your skin with every use. After a few years use you will look like "the hideous sun demon".

I have been cleared to take care of brushes like that so if you send it my way I'll properly dispose of it for you.

Like Lee is making one now? I've tried contacting the guy, but he's like a ghost.

So you have to know his phone number or send him a letter in the mail? Was the one you just received custom made? I feel left out...

I have had no contact with Lee, but the brush was custom made.

Don't feel that way. This has been his MO for years. He is the Ernest Hemingway of brush making, now you see him, now you don't.

Not so ... I've been in contact with Lee several times over the past weeks. Lee is a very busy man with life's commitments that many of us have.. but, one must be prepared to allow Lee to answer as time allows. Lee has taken a bad rap over the years for this, but I think it just adds to the mystique and elusive nature of the brand .. Very appealing IMO.

Not so appealing to me. I'd like a M&F but I don't like the chase so I've never bothered. I know everyone is busy in life's commitments but a simple email is not hard.

Ive brought from numerous custom makers whom all have real life jobs but their customer service has been outstanding.

A Thater, a Simpson, a Shavemac are mighty fine brushes. No problem with selection or contact. Just sayin'

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
