Up until that time we enjoyed a good relationship with Rooney but when we MyCompany Quarterly Reported problems with some brushes shedding hairs, Rooney stopped returning our calls and emails.

Executive Shaving had to refund and exchange many brushes leaving us £100s out of pocket. We decided to sell off our remaining Rooney stock with a 50% discount and a warning that some brushes may be 'shedders'.

The owner of Rooney brushes was always very wary about where the brushes were made and by whom. Are they made in England? If so, where?

Today, The Executive Shaving Co Ltd stock high quality shaving brushes such as Simpson, Vulfix and Muhle. We also sell a range of own branded Executive Shaving brushes most of which are made in England by a well known and highly respected manufacturer; while some are lathe turned by a Scottish guy who does specially commissioned work for us using imported badger hair heads."
That same google search will turn up this thread http://straightrazorpalace.com/brush...g-2-print.html as well. IIRC when I joined this forum some of the members were leery of buying Simpson brushes for the same shedding reason. Keep in mind that on the net you will hear a larger portion of complaints about a product than people praising a product. As always you can have problems with a product regardless of price point. Absolutely - and with everything, you get standard QA issues, wouldn't surprise me at all that an occasional bad batch of a product get's out, brings to mind explosive images of the Pinto, now there was a great car.....

I remember the Simpsons shedding for a time. IIRC they had a new employee who was taking the place of the regular who was out sick. Things returned to normal though and the problem was resolved.

I've had a bunch of Rooneys in FInest and in Heritage. I had a problem with one Heritage and Jim, when he still had Vintage Blades, gave me an exchange.

I still have one very early Finest, one Heritage, and a more recent Super (purchased before Jim sold Vintage) and nary a hair shed with any of them. Also recently sold two Rooney Finests and no problems with those either.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, the internet has a way of affecting your decisions. Even companies like Apple have bad batches and quality control is done by people which are prone to making mistakes.
