I've own a Semogue SOC 2 Band Finest Badger in Cherry Wood and I can a sure you is NOT silvertip it Finest (as Best) Badger hair, the correct size for the SOC 2 Band Finest the information comes straight from the Semogue factory. Edit the SOC 2 Band is the only biggest knot on the Semogue market for Badger

Another thing that can add to confusion is the different companies call their high end knots by various names. Some will call the top of the line Finest, others Super, Manchurian, High Mountain ....... the next step down with one or another company might be Best, might be Super, or whatever.
Saying that unfortunately there is no universal nomenclature for grades of badger across the board. Best to ask the forum, or even better the vendor before pulling the trigger. Most brush companies have websites detailing their sizes and badger grades as well.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
