Default B&B Essential Boar brush: Broken short hairs poking me

Hi. I ordered a B&B Essential boar brush and I think I pressed too hard on my soap when I first lathered it. Some hairs split and left short hairs in the middle of the brush and even after 16 lathers, I can still feel them poking me when face lathering. In fact, I am still palm lathering the brush and using my omega 10066 when shaving in hopes my Essential boar will split hairs. Will broken short hairs eventually split so I can use the brush or do I now have a brush that I can't use in the future? Will I have to buy a new B&B brush or will the broken short hairs split around 30 test lathers? Thanks.

Boar brushes take awhile to break in. To help speed up the process you can lather up your brush and let it sit overnight.

What does the seller recommend you should do ?

It's possible the seller got the order mixed up.
Maybe it's not a boar brush,,, maybe they sold you a Pok-U-Pine brush.

If you snap/break the boar hairs into short hairs, will they still split?

I haven't talked to the vendor. I'm just hoping the short hairs will eventually split so I don't have to give up on it.

I know squat about boar brushes but in general rushing things is never good. I wouldn't be shortening the bristles. it would seem the character of the bristle would be different as you move up the bristle. If you want to break it in faster just twirl the thing wet as you watch tv or something against some wood and that should safely accelerate the break-in.

I think ponypox is asking about the bristles that have already snapped off short in the knot, rather than shortening the knot deliberately
