    The handle is not as butter scotch looking as the photo leads you to believe, more a yellowed off white. Nice solid weighty handle that feels good in the hand. The bottom has a slight concave and shows cut off marks.

    Yes, it does look a lot like the current Duke but he lower part of the handle seem to have slightly different shape. That is why I thought it could possibly be a vintage Simpsons.

    I think I will use it as is before making a final decision on the re knotting. I think it will grow on me.

    I agree, you have enough at the perfect loft, haha. Leave it as is and use it on those days you want to feel nostalgic of the old days.

    As I recall the vintage Simpson brushes had very light stamps filled with lampblack which wore off really quickly.

    Like Spendur said,, probably a Simpson,,, same handle & same style font. Can't find the model 105 though;

    I think that tiny bit of the sticker label tells the tale. It may also have covered the lower mis-stamp?
