Haha....the Sultan of Scritch it is...for me it is the perfect brush, and sets the bar at one end of the brush spectrum; and as a result, allows me to see and enjoy the differences and nuances of the others...love the D01-2.
Going to try a 2 band Silvertip in another vintage handle at some point to go to the other side.Last edited by Phrank; 11-25-2016 at 04:57 PM.

I have a couple of grey badger Thäters, those are very scritchy.

That's what made the original 2 banders so special. They were soft yet had that mild scratch that is so coveted. The only brush I've seen that approximates those now unavailable 2 banders are the Manchurians and they are still far from the others.
I think if you are trying to recapture those now available products you're on a fool's errand. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Shavemac D0-1 two bands are as good as the old Rooney Finests and Simpson Supers/Manchurians. With the new Manchurians it has been hit and miss IME. They are real good in general though. I guess for a Thater to be scritchy it has to be a 'Pure' (black badger) ?
I was thinking a 4125 in a 24x50mm bulb might do it. I had a 4125 26x50 fan and it was good, but not scritchy, so I sold it.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have never come across a 2 or 3-Band Silvertip Thater that was even remotely close to being described as 'scritchy'!
I guess you could see if you can find a Best Badger one to see what it would be like.Laughter, Love, & Shaving
