Got a new Simpson Manchurian last week.
Did three hand lathers with very little dirt in the rinse water and almost no smell.
Go figure? If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Thanked: 1081None of my Simpsons have smelt bad.
Got a LS shaving brush a few weeks ago, the smell was horrendous, stank like a dead badgers... well you get the picture.
Never had a brush smell like that before. Just gave it a good lathering with shampoo then after normal use the smell died away after about a week.Last edited by markbignosekelly; 02-19-2017 at 11:28 AM.

Why did you use Tabac shaving soap in the first place? It's not the brush, believe me. I have one of them, and it does not smell at all.

I have 5 Thater brushes and they all smelled worse that any other brands. A couple exuded this horrible looking "I don't know what" when soaked for a while. Of course this has nothing to do with the overall quality or performance. They are at the top performance and quality wise.
By the way, the last treatment got the last of the smell out.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 146My wife used peroxide and baking soda on the dog when he got sprayed by a skunk. Worked pretty good, but I still don't think it would get out the smell of lilac vegetal
